(Optional) Pat yourself on the back and take a sigh of relief, you probably have spent hours looking for an answer no one is talking about.
I spent hours, and hours looking for a solution. Probably factory reset the device more than 15 times. Until I realized it was a similar issue on why my smart home appliances were not connecting to Alexa. It was my country of origin. Different regions offer different versions of a software, if it’s something the device is not expecting, then it’s not gonna find anything. (This is speculation and 100% confirmation bias by the way, granted it happened with both Amazon and Meta in a very similar fashion)
Let’s say you get an used Meta Quest 2 and you know for a fact it was working a few hours ago. You factory reset it to use it for yourself and the setup was awkwardly troublesome. You remained idle in the looking for updates section for a good while. After that, you try downloading apps from the marketplace but they get stuck. They never start.
If this sounds familiar then ask yourself this question, where were you when you first created your facebook account? Where did you get this Meta Quest device? If they are both from different countries then this is your solution.
