Some random chronically online writing about consumer tech as a regular user. Fight me on my socials below.

TL;DR: The OnePlus 10T is possibly the best OnePlus Device out there right now. It is not perfect, but it gets rid of unnecessary premium features in favor of performance.

This is my favorite OnePlus phone yet. It really feels like the company went back to it’s roots by making a performance focused phone with flagship characteristics. It’s sad to see most reviews online are grilling this phone for reasons I find nitpicky. I hope this review can provide a different point of view from a standard user.

Now let’s get this out of the way. It’s not a perfect device. I really miss the alert slider on the side of the phone. OxygenOS is definitely buggier than normal and the camera isn’t great.

The Good

  • The price. This is a cheaper phone with high-end specs.

  • The 125W (150W Overseas) SUPERVOOC charger that is actually INCLUDED IN THE BOX does wonders when you’re in a rush. I even stopped charging my phone at night, you don’t need it anymore.

  • I notice my battery life has been greatly increased compared to my OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 8.

  • 3D Games like Genshin Impact run pretty well in short sessions of gaming.

  • This is a personal preference, but the flat screen is way more desirable than a curved display

  • On-Screen fingerprint protector works really well

I would write about the touch responsive screen and the superior CPU to the OnePlus 10 Pro but I’m not savvy in those areas.

The sacrifices

  • I don’t mind this, but it is a 1080p screen.

  • It is a very standard phone, beefy but not outstanding.

  • Cameras are a downgrade from any flagship phone or even a OnePlus 10 Pro.

  • There’s no wireless charging. But trust me, you don’t need it.

  • THE ALERT SLIDER IS GONE

The bad

  • The iconic alert slider is gone. I sometimes do a ghost reach trying to use it. This was such a defining feature of the phones

  • The cameras are OK, just not on par with a OnePlus 10 Pro. Definitely inferior to the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra and Pixel 7.

  • The Macro camera on this phone feels shoveled in.

  • No Hasselblad image processing for pictures. They’ve been parading over their collaboration so much, why did they just forget about it?

  • OxygenOS 12 is really messy. My notification bar gets bugged and frozen very often. I have to lock and unlock my phone to get rid of it.

The Verdict: Should you get this phone?

If you’re in dire need of an upgrade. Go for it. There’s often really good sales and trade-in bonuses. There’s a lot to like about this phone. It certainly was badly received, but I like it. My only concern is: The OnePlus 11 might be just around the corner, and if it features this battery life and charging, it might just be worth waiting for!

Make sure to check out my Review on the Glacier Mat case. Definitely an interesting gimmick for this phone.
